Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, July 11, 2021

Introduction:  Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, July 11, 2021

This sermon talks about the fact that that the children of the Lord should always hold to the Scriptures that in the Lord Jesus, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1: 7).

The Lord Jesus only died once; He paid the price for all of our sins only once.

You were once dead in trespasses and sins, but no more; you once walked in time past according to the course of this world, but no more; you once had the life of sin as others who are still in sin, but no more; you were once by nature a child of wrath, but no more (Ephesians 2: 1 – 4).

The Lord has quickened us together, raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2: 5 – 6).

It means all of those that would come to the Lord Jesus were made alive at the same time, they were raised at the same time and they were made to sit in heavenly places at the same.

This gives you the assurance that the Lord will not forget you when He comes in the translation.  Colossians 3: 4:  “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

If you believe the true word of God, you “shall have no fear for the angel of God is beside thee to watch over thee” until the Lord returns.

Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, July 11, 2021

We listened to a sermon titled “Benefits of Wisdom”, CD # 762, preached by Brother Neal Frisby on 11/18/79 (AM).

In the sermon, Brother Frisby said:

With the wisdom of God, you have another way of getting your prayers answered.

Wisdom helps you to receive God’s promises.

Proverbs 1: 7:  “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”.

Trust is long-term faith.

The Lord is preparing the church in divine wisdom.

Wisdom is the key that will bring the church together.

The wisdom of the Lord converts the soul.

Divine wisdom will prepare you; it will let your prayer be answered.

The anointed word of God will add length of days and long life and peace to you (Proverbs 3: 2).

God’s revival is coming upon the earth.

Keep praising the Lord no matter what comes your way.

Acknowledge the Lord in all thy ways and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3: 6).

God’s wisdom brings prosperity (Proverbs 3: 10, 14 – 15).

Wisdom promotes happiness (Proverbs 3: 13).

Divine wisdom will lead into eternal life (Proverbs 3: 18).

Brother Frisby heard the Lord speaking about various topics, including His creation, the secrets He will reveal to His elect in heaven, eternity, His Kingdom, the joint-ownership we have with the Lord, power of the saints and time measures concerning the revival at the end and translation.

The Lord is going to get everyone that is His.

Divine wisdom will prepare you and will let your prayers be answered.

The Lord God manifests in three offices (as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) in divine wisdom.

The Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13: 8).

The Lord has all things in His hand and we will blend into eternity with Him.

As you absorb the word of God, He will become your confidence (Proverbs 3: 26).

The Messiah was God’s wisdom cloud coming to the people.

The wise shall inherit the Kingdom of God (Proverbs 3: 35).

I started the sermon.

Psalm 111: 10:  “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:  a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:  his praise endureth for ever.”

Ephesians Chapter 1:

Verse 7 – 8:  “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;”

In the Lord Jesus, we now have redemption through His blood; we have the forgiveness of our sins.

Verse 9:  “Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:”

What is the good pleasure that the Lord has purposed in Himself?  The answer is in the next verse.

Verse 10:  “That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:”

What the Lord has purposed in Himself is that “in the dispensation of the fulness of times”, that is, when there is no more time, when we are now in eternity, He will “gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him”.

It means in eternity, all that have come to the Lord Jesus through shall be gathered together by the Lord.  We will be talking of the eternal salvation of our Lord God throughout eternity.

Verse 11:  “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:”

We have an eternal inheritance from the Lord.  This inheritance lasts not just for trillions of years, but for eternity.

What again is the purpose of the Lord – who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will?  Let us again find the answer in the next verse.

Verse 12:  “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.”

It means for eternity, we are “the praise of his glory”.  The Lord God will look at us, and for eternity, He will be proud of what He accomplished by Him paying the price for our sins on the cross.  There will be joy in the presence of the Lord in heaven for eternity.  Psalm 16: 11 states:  “at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Verse 13:  “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:  in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

This gospel is “the word of truth”.  Nothing on this earth is of more truth than the gospel of our Lord Jesus – that the Lord God Himself became a human being to die for our sins.  “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3: 15).

After you believed in the Lord Jesus, you “were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise”.

Verse 14:  “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

The down payment “of our inheritance” is the Lord Jesus Himself in the form of the Holy Spirit.  We are sealed; we have an eternal inheritance; we now have the down payment of this inheritance until the day of rapture – “until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

Verse 15 – 16:  “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;”

You can now pray for all of the brethren throughout the whole world, including all those that you have never met.  Each one of us that has come to true salvation in the Lord Jesus is sealed by the Holy Spirit.

Verse 17:   “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”

The person that came as the Lord Jesus was the Lord God Himself (Isaiah 9: 6).

What is the type of prayer you should be making for all of the brethren throughout the whole world?  That the Lord God may give unto each one of us “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him”.

Verse 18 – 20:  “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,”

As the eyes of our understanding are enlightened, we will know (1) “what is the hope of his calling”; (2) “what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints”; (3) “what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe” which the Lord used to raise Himself from the dead.

The Lord will reveal more of what awaits us in eternity with Him.

The Lord will reveal more of the greatness of His power which He will use to raise the dead in Christ and to change the bodies of those who are alive at the time of translation.  1 Corinthians 15: 53:  “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”

Verse 21:  “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:”

The Lord Jesus, being the Almighty God, was raised:  “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come”.

We are joint-heirs with the Lord.  Romans 8: 17 states:  “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ”.  We will also sit with the Lord on His throne for eternity.  Revelation 3: 21 states:   “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne”.

Verse 22 – 23:  “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”

We are the body of the Lord Jesus – all of His children wherever they may be on this earth.

Ephesians Chapter 2:

Verse 1:  “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;”

If you truly believe in the Lord Jesus, the Lord has forgiven your sins; you “were” dead in trespasses and sins, but you are no longer in trespasses and sins.

Verse 2:  “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

It was in the “past” that you “walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”.

Verse 3:  “Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

We all “had” this type of life in times “past” and we “were” by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Always consider yourself in the Lord Jesus to be no longer in sin.

The Lord Jesus only died once; He paid the price for all of our sins only once.  Hold to your faith in the Lord Jesus that He has already forgiven all of your sins.  Psalm 103: 3 says: “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities”.

You were once dead in trespasses and sins, but no more.

You once walked in time past according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience, but no more.

You once had the life of sin as others who are still in sin, but no more.

You were once by nature a child of wrath, but no more.

Verse 4 – 6:  “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”

Even when we were still in sin, when the Lord should be punishing us, He forgave us of our sins.

It means all of those that would come to the Lord Jesus were made alive at the same time, they were raised at the same time and they were made to sit in heavenly places at the same time because the Lord “hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”.

It means the brethren that have died in the Lord, those who are alive today in the Lord Jesus or those who will come to the Lord Jesus in the future have all been quickened “together”, have all been raised “together” and have all been made to sit “together” in heavenly places.

This gives you the assurance that the Lord will not forget you when He comes in the translation.  Colossians 3: 4:  “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

Verse 7:  “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”

This Scripture states:  “in the ages to come”, the Lord will be showing “the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus”.

It means throughout eternity, the Almighty God will still be talking about His great kindness towards us by Him paying the price for our sins as the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross.

I read from Scroll # 37:

WILL WE KNOW ONE ANOTHER IN HEAVEN THE SAME AS UPON THE EARTH? – Where do people go after death?  Yes we shall know one another in heaven – read I Cor. 13: 12 – Moses and Elijah were known when they appeared with Christ.  (St. Matt. 17:1-3)  This is one reason you will rejoice in heaven, you will see your loved ones once again!  We will also have discernment possibly to know those we have not known before like the Apostle Paul, Elijah etc.  We will know Jesus at one glance!!  When a person dies the Lord sends an escorting angel to them.  (Ps. 91:11) explaining secrets after death because surely people are startled afterwards to find they have a spiritual body too!  Even more alive and alert then before death.  THE SINNER AND THE SAINTS DEPARTURE – Where are the dead (Luke 16: 26) Divine revelation will reveal this is true (Luke 16:22-23)  The flesh body of the Elect that die in the Lord Jesus is in the grave, but the real you, the spiritual personality “form” is in a beautiful waiting place, prepared for them just below the 3rd haven.  (II Cor. 12:1-4) until at rapture time they unite “Heavens Presence” with their body which becomes glorified then!  Now the sinner who dies without God is escorted to a place not so beautiful, below or (just above) or near the final hell until they also unite with their corrupted body to appear for judgment.  (I Cor. 3:13-14  Rev. 20:12) afterwards the sinner finally goes to the dark abode.  Both places were created heaven for the saints and hell for the unbeliever.  The parable of the rich man and Lazarus reveals recognition in heaven and also people go to different places immediately after death!  (Luke 23:43)  The rich man also knew Abraham who he had not seen before.  He also saw Lazarus and knew him as the same person who once had laid at his gate (Luke 16: 19-23-30)  Read Job 3: 17-19-David said he would know his son again!  (II Sam.  12:21-23)  Hold fast and let no man take thy crown!  Yea saith the Lord if ye shall believe the Word of the Lord in this message thou shall have no fear for the angel of God is beside thee to watch over thee until I return – “Selah!”

I continued with the sermon:

It means we will know one another in heaven.  The Brothers and Sisters in the Lord that you know now, you will know them in heaven.  You will also rejoice in heaven when you see your loved ones again.  We will also have discernment possibly to know those we have not known before – whether those who lived in the Old Testament or in the New Testament.  We will also immediately know our Lord Jesus Christ, our eternal God, who made it all possible for us to make heaven.  If you believe the true word of God, you “shall have no fear for the angel of God is beside thee to watch over thee” until the Lord returns.
