Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, January 23, 2022

Introduction:  Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, January 23, 2022

This sermon talks about the fact that when you receive salvation, there is a burden that is lifted; you are a new creature; the sting of death is gone.

O death, where is thy sting?  Salvation has taken it away.  The sting of death is sin, and if sin is taken away, the sting of death is gone.

O grave, where is thy victory?  You have victory over the grave because of salvation.

1 Corinthians 15: 55 – 57:  “O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

You have passed from death unto life (John 5: 24).

Only the predestined will be saved or believe in true salvation.

It is easier for you to pass on to heaven at the time of death, than sometimes for you to fall asleep on your bed.

When you receive salvation in your heart, you get rid of that death sting.

If you love God, when it is time for you to leave this earth through death, it will not be a sting.  You will feel nothing.

But the sinner has the sting of death on him when he leaves; the grave has complete victory over him.

The Lord has already prepared a body for you that will change this body to a glorified body (2 Corinthians 5: 1).

A place in heaven has been prepared for you (John 14: 2 – 3).

The Lord knows each of you as an individual.  He knows everything you will do in your life.  He knows when you will come to this earth and, in that same thought, He knows when you will leave.

He knew you in His thoughts from eternity.

The predestinated of God will want salvation. They will believe His word and will live with Him for eternity.

The grave does not have power over you; the sting of death does not have any power over you.

You will be blessed.

Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, January 23, 2022

We listened to a sermon titled “Before Time”, CD # 1040, preached by Brother Neal Frisby on 2/17/85 (AM).

In the sermon, Brother Frisby said:

Behind the simple salvation that God gives us is eternity; it is beyond mortal conception.

Before God made anything, He sat alone in eternity.

God foreknew Job before he was created.  Before anything ever came to Job, the Lord knew all the time what was coming to him.  He knew it from eternity; He is sovereign.

God foreknows all things.

John 3: 12 – 13:  “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

Job 40: 1 – 2:  “Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him?  he that reproveth God, let him answer it.”  Job 40: 8 – 9:  “Wilt thou also disannul my judgment?  wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?  Hast thou an arm like God?  or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?”

How great, how deep, the Lord is.

Psalm 99: 1:  “The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble:  he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.”

Before the Lord created anything, seraphims, cherubims and angels, He sat alone.

One session of God’s thoughts in eternity would probably reveal what He would be doing for the next millions of years, in perfect order.

He knew you in His thoughts from eternity.

Each person, each race of people, comes to this earth at the time that the Lord has chosen.

Each person that comes to this earth since the time of Adam was in His thoughts from eternity.  This is infinite time, where there is no time, where it is eternal.

He knew you and wanted you to be born on earth at His appointed time.

The Lord has made salvation simple.

You shall be called great in the kingdom of God (Matthew 5: 19).

You shall be called a wise man (Matthew 7: 24).

You shall abide in His love (John 15: 10).

You shall be His friend (John 15: 15).

You shall have right to the tree of life for eternity (Revelation 22: 14).

He that cometh to the Lord shall not be cast out (John 6: 37).

You are predestinated.  You were in His thoughts from the beginning.

He shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3: 15), as if those who do not believe shall perish.

You cannot deceive the very elect.

If you accept salvation, you have passed from death unto life (John 5: 24).

When you receive salvation, there is a burden that is lifted; you are a new creature; the sting of death is gone.

It is easier for you to pass on to heaven at the time of death, than sometimes for you to fall asleep on your bed.

Thanks be to God for you have victory over death; you have victory over the grave.  Even if you were to die, you will be resurrected because you have victory over the grave.  Though he were dead, yet shall he live (John 11: 25 – 26).

When you receive salvation in your heart, you get rid of that death sting.

But the sinner has the sting of death on him when he leaves; the grave has complete victory over him.

Salvation gets rid of the sting of death.  Salvation gives you victory over the grave.

He shall not perish, but shall be raised at the last day (John 6: 40).  Your body will be glorified (1 Corinthians 15: 54).

How great salvation is.

Paul said in 2 Timothy 4: 7 – 8:  “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

O death, where is thy sting?  If you love God, when it is time for you to leave this earth through death, it will not be a sting.  You will feel nothing.

At salvation, the sting of death is gone.

The Lord has already prepared a body for you that will change this body to a glorified body, just as the Lord Jesus has a glorified body (2 Corinthians 5: 1).

How great salvation is.

You will always be with the Lord.

Trillions of years after the translation, you will still look young in the glorified body that the Lord shall give you.  The Angel that appeared at Christ’s resurrection was described as a young man, and he was probably millions or trillions of years old (Mark 16: 5).

There will be different ruling positions in heaven.

Revelation 13: 8:  “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

Revelation 17: 8:  “The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:  and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”

We were in the Lord’s thoughts from eternity.

I will not cast him out.

Only the predestined will be saved or believe in true salvation.

A glorified body has been prepared for you (2 Corinthians 5: 1).

A place in heaven has been prepared for you (John 14: 2 – 3).

You are dealing with the Lord in infinity, in eons of time, in eternity.

Salvation is simple, you come to the Lord Jesus in true repentance, and He removes the sting of death.

Before there was anything called time, God had great plans and you were in His thoughts.

The elect cannot be deceived.

The elect will wind up with Him, despite themselves.

You shall have the light of life (John 8: 12).

You shall have treasure in heaven beyond anything on this earth (Matthew 19: 21).

We are to witness; the elect will witness.

If a person can’t believe what has been revealed, then that person cannot even believe that they exist.

The Lord knows each of you as an individual.  He knows everything you will do in your life.  He knows when you will come to this earth and, in that same thought, He knows when you will leave.

The elect knows Him and follows Him (John 10: 27 – 28).

The Lord knows who is going to be in the translation and He knows who will be in the tribulation.

He knows all the stars by their names, and there are billions and trillions of galaxies (Isaiah 40: 25 -26).

Salvation is a gift; you receive eternal life (Romans 6: 23).

The predestinated of God will want salvation, the sting of death is gone. They will believe His word and will live with Him for eternity.

The grave does not have power over you; the sting of death does not have any power over you.

I started the sermon:

“When you receive salvation, there is a burden that is lifted; you are a new creature; the sting of death is gone.”

“O death, where is thy sting?  Salvation has taken it away.  The sting of death is sin, and if sin is taken away, the sting of death is gone.”

“O grave, where is thy victory?  You have victory over the grave because of salvation.”

1 Corinthians 15: 55 – 58:  “O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

You will be able to abound “in the work of the Lord”.  You will be able to witness with full assurance of faith because you know that the Lord Jesus has already taken the sting of death from you; He has already given you power over the grave.  You will be glorified when the translation takes place.  You “know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”.

“If you love God, when it is time for you to leave this earth through death, it will not be a sting.  You will feel nothing.”

“But the sinner has the sting of death on him when he leaves; the grave has complete victory over him.”

Romans 8: 1 – 2:  “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

“There is therefore now no condemnation” to you because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you “free from the law of sin and death.”

As a result of salvation, you are now free from the law of sin and death.  Death has no sting over you; the grave has no power over you.

John 11: 25 – 26:  “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:  he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believeth thou this?”

Salvation is personal to you.  You will know in your heart whether your sin has been taken away; you will know in your heart whether heaven is waiting for you.  The Spirit of the Lord bears witness with your spirit.

Romans 8: 16:  “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God”.

“The Lord has already prepared a body for you that will change this body to a glorified body, just as the Lord Jesus has a glorified body.”

2 Corinthians 5: 1:  “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

It means the body that will change your physical body at the time of translation, that will change this corruptible into incorruption, that will change this mortal into immortality (1 Corinthians 15: 53 – 54), is already waiting for you in heaven.  It is your eternal body.

“A place in heaven has been prepared for you.”

John 14: 2 – 3:  “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

“Each person that comes on this earth since the time of Adam was in His thoughts from eternity.”

“You are predestinated.  You were in His thoughts from the beginning.”

I read from Scroll # 232:

FOREKNOWLEDGE – Way back in the eons of time we don’t have words to describe how long ago in eternity it was!  But the Lord of Hosts always foreknew us.  And at the proper moment.  Like a great cocoon spawning out of God’s mind and in the mist of His presence all of us were foreknown and came at His appointed time since Adam.  Many Scriptures reveal this.  One of them is Eph. chap. 1 – And here is another one Job 38: 6-7, His chosen was with Him when He laid the foundations of earth’s corner stone.  When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

I continued with the Sermon:

Ephesians 1: 4:  “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”.

The Lord chose you before the foundation of the world, before there was anything called time, to come to salvation and to “be holy and without blame before him in love”.

“Only the predestined will be saved or believe in true salvation.”

I read from Scroll # 43:

THE ELECT SPIRITS WHICH WERE PART OF GOD, BEFORE THE ELECT BODY WAS CREATED – The real you (the spiritual part) was with God before it was appointed a body upon the earth through seed.  There is a fleshly seed and a spiritual seed which was united!  The real eternal spirit which God gives His saints had no beginning and has no end and is like unto God!  That is why after death our body is changed into the inner immortal spirit, that is why it is called eternal life, it always was and always will be with God!  And He breathed it into each of us (Gen. 2: 7)  “Behold saith the Lord do ye not know this Scripture?  Ye were with Me when the Morning Stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy!” (Job 38: 6,7)  Our flesh body came upon earth by birth uniting with His spirit which was always with Him!  And when we repent (salvation) we keep this spirit in order to always live with Him!!  Read (Isa. 1:9 – Eph. 1:4)  (Satan’s seed is a group, also the Lord has created a place for them.)

I continued with the Sermon:

This Scroll states:  “And when we repent (salvation) we keep this spirit in order to always live with Him!!”

“The predestinated of God will want salvation, the sting of death is gone. They will believe His word and will live with Him for eternity.”

“One session of God’s thoughts in eternity would probably reveal what He would be doing for the next millions of years, in perfect order.”

Isaiah 46: 9 – 10:  “Remember the former things of old:  for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”.

The Lord declares “the end from the beginning”, He declares “from ancient times the things that are not yet done”, saying, His “counsel shall stand”.  He decides from eternity what will be done in perfect order.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1 – 2:  “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted”.

This Scripture states to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.  “A time to be born, and a time to die”, already preset by the eternal God, whose “counsel shall stand”.

Ephesians 1: 13 – 14:  “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:  in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

You heard the word of truth and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.  He then seals you with Himself (the Holy Spirit) till the time of the translation, “until the redemption of the purchased possession”.

The Lord Jesus is coming back soon.

You can look towards the time of translation, knowing in your heart that death has no sting over you, that you have victory over the grave, that the eternal body that will change your physical body into a glorified body is already waiting for you in the heavens and that the Lord Jesus has already prepared a place for you to be with Him for eternity.

You will want to thank the Almighty God, our Lord Jesus Christ, every day, with all of your heart, for paying the price for your salvation, for giving you eternal life.
