Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, September 5, 2021

Introduction:  Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, September 5, 2021

This sermon talks about the fact that all Scriptures are based on who the Lord God is.

Without believing who He is, we will not have the faith for translation.

Hebrews 11: 5:  “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him:  for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

The type of faith that Enoch had that made it possible for him to be translated is in the next verse.

Hebrews 11: 6:  “But without faith it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

In order for you to believe who the Lord is, you must believe Isaiah 9: 6 which describes the Lord Jesus as “The mighty God”.

You must believe that no God was formed before the Lord Jesus and no God shall be formed after Him because He is the eternal God (Isaiah 43: 10 – 11).

You must believe Isaiah 65: 24 which states:  “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

You must believe that because of your salvation through the Lord Jesus, you now have redemption through His blood; you now have the forgiveness of your sins (Colossians 1: 14).

You will be blessed.

Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, September 5, 2021

We listened to a sermon titled “Faith Exploits And Eternity”, CD # 730, preached by Brother Neal Frisby on 3/18/79 (PM).

In the sermon, Brother Frisby said:

Praise Him for what He has already done.

There is another world around us; it is like faith.

There is an unseen world that lives within us; a calm within us.

The Lord is the great Creator.

The Lord told Joshua in Joshua 1: 7 – 9 to be strong and very courageous and not to depart from the word of God.

Faith cometh by hearing the word of God (Romans 10: 17).

The children of Israel compassed the city of Jericho once each day for six days, and seven times on the seventh day.  They shouted, and the walls of the city fell flat.  God had told Joshua that He had given Jericho into their hands (Joshua 6: 12 – 20).

Have the faith of God.

The Sun and the Moon stood still for Joshua (Joshua 10: 12 – 14).

Each one of us is like a stone and we will fit into God’s destiny for our lives.

The Lord said occupy until I come (Luke 19: 13).

You cannot run away from God’s destiny for you.

The sundial went down for Hezekiah, time went backwards, death passed over him, death could not claim him at that time; the Lord added fifteen more years to his life (2 Kings 20: 1 – 11).

You cannot number the stars; they are endless (Jeremiah 31: 37).

When the Lord calls you in translation, you are in eternity with the Lord; your body will change, it will put on immortality.  In a flash of light, we are changed.

Remember the great miracles of the Lord.

You can have whatsoever you saith.

You can have faith and have a taste of heaven for a moment.

I started the sermon.

All Scriptures are based on who the Lord God is.

Genesis 1: 1:  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

This earth that we are dwelling on did not just come about by itself.  It was created by the Almighty God who also created the heaven with all the stars therein.

Psalm 90: 1 – 4:  “LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.  Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.  For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.”

This Scripture refers to a specific person, the eternal God, and states that He has been in existence from everlasting and will last to everlasting.  Thus, there was no time that God was not in existence; He will be in existence for eternity.

Isaiah 43: 10-11:  “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen:  that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:  before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.  I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”

Isaiah 9: 6 refers to the Lord Jesus as “The mighty God”.  It states:  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon his shoulder:  and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

It means no God was formed before the Lord Jesus, because He is “The mighty God”, and no God will be formed after him.   This Scripture also states:  “and beside me there is no saviour”.  There can be no other Saviour besides the Lord Jesus.  Only the Lord Jesus has eternal life which He has given to us through salvation.

Isaiah 46: 9-10:  “Remember the former things of old:  for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”.

The Lord is able to tell you all that will happen in the future because He has already been into the future.  He will also do whatever He wants because His counsel will stand and He will do all His pleasure.

I read from Scroll # 23, Part II:

TIME AND ETERNITY – (The Past, Present and Future)  They are all the same to God (He created time when He created death)  What is time?  There is no such thing as time with God.  (It is eternal)  Time was created when God announced death on Adam and Eve.  If they or people did not have to die there would be no such thing as time!  It would be eternal.  Dying produces a “Time Limit” – to God there is no past or future.  Everything is past to Him, “He already knows all that is future.”  That makes it all past tense!  The fourth or all dimensions are only normal to Him, (but future to us)  There is no beginning or ending with God.  So there is no time for Him, only man has a time limit (cycle) and it is about finished!

I continued with the Sermon:

Isaiah 65: 24:  “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

Before you pray, the Lord God has already answered you.  It is because He already sees you praying in the future, He already knows what you will be praying about, and He has already answered that prayer request.

At the time you are praying, He is listening to you, even though He has already answered that prayer request long before you got to the point of asking Him.

Colossians 1: 14 – 17:  “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:  all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

We now have redemption through the blood of the Lord Jesus, we now have the forgiveness of our sins, because He paid the price for our sins on the cross.

He was the image of the invisible God.  He was God in the form of a human being.

The Lord Jesus has created all things, whether “visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:  all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

Exodus 14: 21 – 22:  “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.  And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground:  and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.”

The Lord God, because He has created all things, could cause a strong east wind to blow all through the night and parted the Red sea, making it possible for the children of Israel to pass through it upon dry ground.

Mark 4: 39 – 41:  “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still.  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful?  how is it that ye have no faith?  And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

The Lord Jesus rebuked the wind; He also spoke to the sea that He had created.  The disciples “said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”  The Lord Jesus was not just a man; He was the eternal God walking as a man.

Matthew 6: 25 – 33:  “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.  Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  Behold the fowls of the air:  for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.  Are ye not much better than they?  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?  And why take ye thought for raiment?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat?  or, What shall we drink?  or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

You should not worry about what you will eat, what you will drink or what you will put on.  It states:  “for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Trust the Lord Jesus daily, let Him guide you and He will supply all of your needs.

Matthew 8: 5 – 13: “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my  servant  lieth  at  home  sick  of  the  palsy,  grievously tormented.  And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am  not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:  but speak  the word only, and my servant shall be healed.  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me:  and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.  When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so  great faith, no, not in Israel.  And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.  But the children of  the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness:  there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.  And  his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”

The centurion did not consider himself worth enough to receive the Lord Jesus into his house.  He told the Lord that He had the power to speak where He was standing and his servant, who was at home, would be healed.  The centurion knew that the Lord was at the same time also at his house.  He knew that this Jesus standing in front of him had to be the Almighty God because He was in more than one place at the same time.  It is only the Almighty God, who dwells in eternity, that can be in more than one place at the same time.

John 4: 47 – 53:  “When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son:  for he was at the point of death.  Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.  The nobleman saith unto him,  Sir, come down ere my child die.  Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth.  And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.  And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend.  And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.  So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth:  and himself believed, and his whole house.”

The nobleman’s son was at the point of death and he wanted the Lord Jesus to come to his house to heal him.  The Lord Jesus did not go to his house; rather, He told him:  “Go thy way; thy son liveth”.  The nobleman “believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.”

The nobleman believed the words of the Lord Jesus because he knew this was God talking to him.

John 8: 56 – 58:  “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day:  and he saw it, and was glad.  Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?  Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.”

The Lord Jesus told the Jews that He had been in existence prior to Abraham.  He stated:  “Before Abraham was, I am.”

All of these Scriptures bring out who God is.

Why is it important for us to believe who God is?  Without believing who He is, we will not have the faith for translation.

Hebrews 11: 5:  “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him:  for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

What type of faith did Enoch have that made it possible for him to be translated?

The answer is in the next verse.

Hebrews 11: 6:  “But without faith it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

For you to have the faith to please the Lord, you must believe who He is and that He will reward you for truly seeking Him.

You must believe Isaiah 46: 9 – 10 which states that the Almighty God declares “the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”.

You must believe Colossians 1: 15 – 17 which states that by the Lord Jesus “were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible”.

You must believe that the Lord God will supply all your needs (Matthew 6: 25 – 33).

Our Lord is also a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  An example is 2 Timothy 4: 6 – 8 where Apostle Paul mentioned the Lord will give him a crown of righteousness:  “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

The Lord Jesus tasted death for every man (Hebrews 2: 9).  He then gives us the faith to believe what He has done.  Ephesians 2: 8:  “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God”.

We now live everyday by the faith of the Lord God Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ, and we will go with Him when He calls us for the translation.

Galatians 2: 20:  “I am crucified with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

The word of God is forever settled in heaven. It means no one can now come and change it or give it a different interpretation.  Psalm 119: 89:  “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
