Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, October 31, 2021

Introduction:  Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, October 31, 2021

This sermon talks about the fact that the Lord Jesus will raise us up on the day of translation.

Job 14: 14:  “If a man die, shall he live again?”  Job answered this question in Job 19: 25 – 26 stating he will see his redeemer.

The Lord Jesus will raise up all those who truly believe in Him on the day of translation (John 6: 39, 40, 44).

All those who are alive in the Lord at the time of translation shall be changed to the eternal body in less than a second, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” (1 Corinthians 15: 51 – 52).

Our body changes to the same eternal body as the body of our eternal God, the Lord Jesus Christ, for “we shall be like him” (1 John 3: 2).

If you have true salvation, you have the certainty that when Christ, who is our eternal life, shall appear at the time of translation, you shall “also appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3: 4).

What a joy to know that in less than a second, we shall be changed to have an eternal body and be like the Almighty God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and so shall we ever be with Him, for eternity.  “Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4: 18).

You will be blessed.

Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, October 31, 2021

We listened to a sermon titled “The Mystery Of Life”, CD # 1206, preached by Brother Neal Frisby on 4/27/88 (PM).

In the sermon, Brother Frisby said:

There is no telling what the Lord has created in other parts of the Universe.

There is an instinct in man that tells him to die in the grave is not the end.

Life after the grave goes into what we were really created for by the Lord.

People have asked how will the Lord bring us back after death?

The fact that you look at yourself in the mirror is to let you know that the Lord will bring you back.

Is there life after death?

Job 14: 14:  “If a man die, shall he live again?”

Job answered this question in Job 19: 25 – 26 stating:  “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:  And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God”.

People will ask:  “Where did we come from?” and “Where are we going?”

The spirit will go back to God.  Ecclesiastes 12: 7:  “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:  and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”

If a man lives again, what will he look like?

In nature, God reveals to us that there is life after death.

It is very simple for God to bring us back again.

John 12: 24:  “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone:  but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”

When the Lord’s body died, life broke out everywhere to everyone that believes; because of His death and resurrection, we now have eternal life.

If He did not die, we will not have eternal life.  He used death to smite death.

The eternal God, the Lord Jesus, stated in John 14: 19:  “because I live, ye shall live also”.  The Lord was showing that we will live also after death.

John 11: 25 – 26:  “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:  he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believeth thou this?”

The Lord knew us before we came.  He told Jeremiah that He knew him before he was born.  Jeremiah 1: 4 – 5:  “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

We come at the time appointed by God’s will; we were not born ages ago.

Psalm 139: 15:  “My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.”

In the Lord’s plans, He redeemed man.

The dead in Christ shall rise first.

In a moment, those who are alive are also glorified.  In that moment, in that twinkling of an eye, we are changed; it is as if we die, but we do not feel it.  You will never know it.  In that moment, our body is changed.  It is glorified; it is changed to an eternal body.

At the time of translation, you will see a person that had died in his or her old age now alive as a young man or as a young woman.

Likewise, someone that is alive at the time of translation and is in his or her old age will, within a moment, be suddenly changed to a young-looking person.

In every man, there is an instinct to find God, that he must return to God.

There is the instinct in man to worship God; that instinct tells him of God.

Each man has that instinct, even before he is saved.

God has provided us a temporary body, a chemical body, this flesh.

The Lord then breathed into man’s nostrils to carry the real spiritual soul.  Genesis 2: 7:  “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

This breath comes to each man and it is left for him to find God.

If you believe and love God, the instinct tells you it will take you home.

When God glorifies the body, you will not be old looking; rather, you will be young looking; you will look like as when you were in the prime of your life.  You will see Adam and you will see Eve; they will be young looking.

Mark 16: 5:  “And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.”

This Angel was probably millions or trillions of years old, and yet, he was described as a young man.

In a moment, when we are glorified, the old body is gone.

The Lord has a secret plan for all ages.  You will still be known as you are known.

1 Corinthians 13: 12:  “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:  now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

In the glorified body, you will be given perfect knowledge and wisdom.

Every human being that the Lord has created must return to Him.

Even if you were burnt up, before the intensity of the fire is increased, that person’s spirit is already in God’s hands.

Do not fear death; the Lord will bring you back.

1 Corinthians 6: 14:  “And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.”

It is not your choice whether you will go back to God.  Revelation 20:  11 – 15:  “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened:  and another book was opened, which is the book of life:  and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:  and they were judged every man according to their works.  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

If you have eternal life, you will love to go back to the Lord.

All that has ever been created will return to the Lord.

When you start to deal in life and death, in the mystery of life, you are dealing in a deep subject.

Always have great confidence in the Lord.  The anointing in God’s word planted in your heart will do its job.

Those who are going to make Heaven will make it there; you will have the instinct that there is a home for you.

The instinct in you tells you that the word of the Lord is true.

If you have Jesus, you have resurrection power in you.

I started the sermon.

John 6: 24 – 44:  “When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.  And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?  Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.  Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you:  for him hath God the Father sealed.  Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.  They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee?  what dost thou work?  Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, HE GAVE THEM BREAD FROM HEAVEN TO EAT.  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.  For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:  he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.  But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:  and I will raise him up at the last day.  The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.  And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know?  how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?  Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:  and I will raise him up at the last day.”

The Lord Jesus states it three times in these verses that He will raise up all those who have truly believed on Him:

Verse 39:  “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”

Verse 40:  “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:  and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Verse 44:  “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:  and I will raise him up at the last day.”

It is part of the plan of the eternal God, who came to die for our sins as the Lord Jesus Christ, to raise us up on the day of translation.

In Verse 27 above, the Lord stated:  “Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you:  for him hath God the Father sealed.”

The Lord Jesus referred to Himself as being sealed by God the Father.  The Lord Jesus is the Father; He sealed Himself.  Isaiah 9: 6:  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon his shoulder:  and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

The Lord Jesus sealing Himself reminds us of Ephesians 1: 13 – 14 which states He seals us as He is the Holy Spirit:   “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:  in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

After you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and you believed the Lord Jesus, He seals you with Himself until the day of translation – “until the redemption of the purchased possession”.

Thus, it is in the Lord’s plan that He will raise up all those who have truly believed in Him on the day of translation.

1 Corinthians 15: 51 – 58:  “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:  for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

It means all those who are alive in the Lord at the time of translation shall be changed to the eternal body in less than a second – as the Scripture states:  “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye”.

When the translation takes place, you may be having your breakfast.  In less than a second, your body changes to the eternal body, the glorified body.

I read from Scroll # 137:

THE GLORIFIED BODY – “What will the body of the elect saints be like? – First here is a definite clue.  I John 3: 2 – Col. 3: 4, it says, we shall be like Him, and we see Him as He is!  He shall change our body into a gloried body!”  (Phil. 3: 21) – “In other words Christ Jesus will be glorified in His saints! – Now that we know we shall have a body in nature like unto Jesus, Let us see what He did after His resurrection!”  – “His body could at will be subject or not subject to the power of gravity! (Acts 1: 9) – We will have this same power when we meet the Lord in the air! (1 Thess. 4: 17) – We will have instantaneous transportation!  Perhaps moving as rapidly as the swiftness of thought!  This is way beyond the speed of light which travels at 186,000 miles per second!  – Yet thought is much quicker than the speed of light!” – “Also our body will possess the springs of eternal youth! . . . The women who saw the angel at Christ’s resurrection described Him as a young man! (Mark 16: 5) – Yet He evidently was trillions of years old, and probably was created before the time our galaxy ever began! – And yet the saints will have the power of this eternal youth! – The glorified saints will be recognized as the same person that they were upon the earth, in the same way that Jesus was recognized again!”  (John 20: 19-20) – “If necessary the glorified body can be felt as a physical body can be felt! (John 20: 27) – And yet the glorified body can pass through walls and doors with the greatest of ease! – The same as Jesus did! (John 20: 19) – It is very possible that if one wanted to eat, that he could, as Jesus did after He was glorified! – He prepared fish and dined with them at the Sea of Tiberius!”  (John 21: 1–14) – “Jesus also promised to eat and drink with the disciples in the kingdom!” (Matt. 26: 29) – “And one other thing, never again we will have to sleep or rest, for we will never be tired! . . . What a wonderful body full of the energy of eternal bliss!”

I continued with the Sermon:

1 John 3: 2:  “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

In that moment of translation, in less than a second, our body changes to the same eternal body as the body of our eternal God, the Lord Jesus Christ, for “we shall be like him”.

Colossians 3: 4:  “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

If you have true salvation, you have the certainty that when Christ, who is our eternal life, shall appear at the time of translation, you shall “also appear with him in glory.”

1 Thessalonians 4: 16 -18:  “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:  and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:  and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

All that our eternal God has done for our salvation – He being slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13: 8), He being born as a child, The mighty God (Isaiah 9: 6), He tasting death for every man (Hebrews 2: 9), He leading our lives everyday (Romans 8: 14), finally ends with we being changed to our eternal body in less than a second – “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye”.

What a joy to know that in less than a second, we shall be changed to have an eternal body and be like the Almighty God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and so shall we ever be with Him, for eternity.  “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
