Introduction:  Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, November 20, 2022

This sermon talks about the fact that because of salvation, you have the victory already in your heart over whatever you will ever confront.  The Lord has already answered your prayer before you even start to pray.

1 John 5: 4:  “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

“Jesus assured us when He was resurrected and after the cross; it is finished.  He gave us the victory and ever since, Satan has been trying to take it back.”

Your faith overcomes “any problem that you will ever confront, anything that you ever want, anything that you will ever be; you have the victory.  And this is the victory, our faith.  Praise the Lord.”

“Faith is a wonderful thing.  It doesn’t have to see; it doesn’t have to hear; it doesn’t have to feel; it doesn’t have to smell; it doesn’t have to do anything.”

“As soon as you allow and let Satan know that you have the victory in your heart, that means a winner, you’ve overcome; you have the answer within you; he must depart.  That sickness cannot cleave, it must depart.  The sins in your heart or anything that is bothering you, it has to depart from there, because you have the victory through the Lord Jesus Christ.”

“But deep in your heart, when you begin to reach on out and you are going to ask God something, you’ve already got your answer ever before you begin to pray.  But you must believe that.  That is what faith is all about.”

Isaiah 65: 24:  “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

“You praise the Lord for what He has given you.  You praise the Lord for the work that He has done for 6,000 years and before that and after that.  You thank the Lord what He is going to do for you in the future.”

“He has created and done more things than you can actually think up to praise Him about.  But praising just the name of the Lord is real powerful.  It’s wonderful.”

“Praise the Lord for the faith that He has given you.”

You have the certainty in your heart that nothing shall separate you “from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8: 35 – 39).

We all talk about the fact that the Lord Jesus is coming soon, and indeed, He is coming soon.  However, He ties something else to that fact.  Luke 18: 8:  “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

There are hundreds of Scriptures that deal with faith.  Here are some Scriptures:

Shall He find you believing that He has already forgiven you of your sins?  Ephesians 1: 7:  “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace”.

Shall He find you believing that He has already healed you?  Isaiah 53: 5:  “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:  the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Shall He find you believing that there is no other God besides Him?  Isaiah 9: 6:  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon his shoulder:  and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Shall He find you believing that He will resurrect you?  John 11: 25 – 26:  “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:  he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believeth thou this?”

When you let these Scriptures settle in your heart, the following Scripture will apply to you.

Isaiah 26: 3: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:  because he trusteth in thee.”

You will be blessed.

Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, November 20, 2022

We listened to a sermon titled “Victory Is Assured”, CD # 1826, preached by Brother Neal Frisby.

In the sermon, Brother Frisby said:

You can overcome any wall, any problem; we have the victory already.

Jesus assured us when He was resurrected and after the cross; it is finished.  He gave us the victory and ever since, Satan has been trying to take it back.

1 John 5: 4:  “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

You have the victory in your heart.

1 Corinthians 15: 54:  “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

1 Corinthians 15: 57:  “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

As soon as you allow and let Satan know that you have the victory in your heart, that means a winner, you’ve overcome; you have the answer within you; he must depart.  That sickness cannot cleave, it must depart.  The sins in your heart or anything that is bothering you, it has to depart from there, because you have the victory through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 12: 20:  “TILL HE SEND FORTH JUDGMENT UNTO VICTORY.”

When the victory gets in the heart, that automatically begins to move the Lord.

1 Chronicles 29: 11:  “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty:  for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”

Once you make Him head above all in your heart, you surely have the victory then, because nothing can exalt itself over you.

Psalm 98: 1:  “O SING unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things:  his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.”

You praise the Lord for what He has given you.  You praise the Lord for the work that He has done for 6,000 years and before that and after that.  You thank the Lord what He is going to do for you in the future.  You thank the Lord for the earth and whatever that you have to do in the earth and you give the Lord a new song and a new praise and you reach on out.  You just keep on for whatever you want to praise Him about.

He has created and done more things than you can actually think up to praise Him about.  But praising just the name of the Lord is real powerful.  It’s wonderful.

Praise the Lord for the faith that He has given you.

At the end of the world, at the end of the age, as the Lord begins to move, you unite your faith and you collect your faith together, there’s going to be a shaking across the earth; we are going to have a real revival.

United faith is powerful.

Thank God in your heart for the faith that He has given.  Each man and woman is given a measure of faith.

We already have the answer before we pray, but we must believe that and it takes place.

It’s a formality, you are asking God to do something for you, figure of speech.  But deep in your heart, when you begin to reach on out and you are going to ask God something, you’ve already got your answer ever before you begin to pray.  But you must believe that.  That is what faith is all about.

Before you ever pray, you have that answer.  You have the victory.  The Bible says victory is assured because Jesus has already done it.

It is finished.  Satan is defeated.  God has snapped the victory out of the jaws of death, even, and He has snapped Satan back and has defeated Satan and ever since then, Satan is trying to come back and to steal your victory.  You have got the victory within inside of you.

O death, where is thy sting; o grave, where is your victory.  Isn’t that wonderful?

This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our determined, persistent faith, is the key to overcome, along with the word of God; it is tremendous power.

You have got the answer to any problem that you will ever confront, anything that you ever want, anything that you will ever be; you have the victory.  And this is the victory, our faith.  Praise the Lord.

Faith is a wonderful thing.  It doesn’t have to see; it doesn’t have to hear; it doesn’t have to feel; it doesn’t have to smell; it doesn’t have to do anything.

Faith is reality.  Faith is the answer and you have the answer before you pray.

You have got the victory.

Have the victory in your heart.

Realize the victory that you’ve got yourself.

Isaiah 25: 8 – 9:  “He will swallow death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth:  for the LORD hath spoken it.  And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us:  this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”

I started the sermon:

1 John 5: 4:  “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

Jesus assured us when He was resurrected and after the cross; it is finished.  He gave us the victory and ever since, Satan has been trying to take it back.

It means, for example, if you have a child or grand-child that you do not like the type of life that he/she is living or you have to drive through a crime-ridden area or as the owner of a business, you have employees that are not willing to accept the rules of employment, you let the devil know in your heart that you have overcome each of these situations because you are born of God.

Your faith overcomes not just these examples, but “any problem that you will ever confront, anything that you ever want, anything that you will ever be; you have the victory.  And this is the victory, our faith.  Praise the Lord.”

Faith is a wonderful thing.  It doesn’t have to see; it doesn’t have to hear; it doesn’t have to feel; it doesn’t have to smell; it doesn’t have to do anything

1 Samuel 17: 32 – 51:  “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.  And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him:  for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.  And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:  And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth:  and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.  Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear:  and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.  David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.  And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.  And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.  And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it.  And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them.  And David put them off him.  And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand:  and he drew near to the Philistine.  And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.  And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him:  for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.  And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves?  And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.  And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.  Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield:  but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.  This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear:  for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands.  And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.  And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.  So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.  Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith.  And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.”

King Saul was ready to discourage David from going to fight the Philistine (Goliath) based on what he could see, telling him:  “thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth”.

David’s answer to the King was that he already had the victory over the Philistine in his heart.  He gave the examples of how he was able to kill the lion and the bear that came after the sheep he was keeping.  He assured the King that:  “this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them”.

David went to face the Philistine with just a staff, five smooth stones and a sling.

1 Samuel 17: 5 – 7 describes what Goliath, a giant in size when compared to David, had:  “And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.  And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.  And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron:  and one bearing a shield went before him.“

When Goliath saw David coming to meet him, he belittled him because he was just a youth.  He “cursed David by his gods”.  It means Goliath called upon his gods to put a curse on David.  He told David he would kill him and give his “flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field”.

David’s response to Goliath was that he was coming to him “in the name of the LORD of hosts”.  He told Goliath the Lord would deliver him into his hand.  He would kill him, cut off his head and give the carcases of the Philistines “unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth”.

When Goliath moved towards David, David ran to meet him.  He was not afraid because he knew he had already won the battle in his heart.  One sling with a stone from David went straight to the space in the helmet on Goliath’s head and “sunk into his forehead”.  He fell on his face to the earth.  David then cut off Goliath’s head with his sword.

David approached Goliath “in the name of the LORD of hosts”.

The name of the Lord was hidden in the Old Testament.  Even though David did not know that name, he still told Goliath he would achieve victory over him in that name.

God’s name is revealed in the New Testament.  Isaiah 9: 6 tells us that “The mighty God” would be born as a child.  Matthew 1: 21 gave us His name:  “thou shalt call his name JESUS”.

It means you cannot achieve victory over the devil unless you let him know in your heart that you are coming at him in the name of the Almighty God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

When the victory gets in the heart, that automatically begins to move the Lord.

I read from Special Writing # 75:

GOD’S ETERNAL WORD

“In this correspondence let us check into the promises of God and see just what He has done for all of us!”  – “First let’s establish one thing, the people on this earth do not realize just how great and powerful the Lord Jesus is! – It is beyond comprehension, but unto His elect He reveals much of His might and authority! – He is the omnipotent and infinite One!  – There is no sickness, prayer or problem too hard for Him to handle! – He knows all things that you need even before you pray! . . . He knows each healing and miracle in advance that will be wrought upon His children! . . . Even those who come and go out from Him! . . . He foreknows it all!”

I continued with the sermon:

It means before you start to pray, the Lord has already answered that prayer.  You already have the victory in your heart and you must believe it.  That is what faith is all about.

The reason why the Lord can answer your prayer before you even start to pray is because He already knows all that is in the future.  He has already seen you praying and has already answered that prayer.

Isaiah 65: 24:  “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

The victory that we have through for our salvation was given to us not just when the Lord Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected.  This was when He came to fulfill it.  Rather, our victory was settled from eternity.

Ephesians 1: 4:  “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”.

Revelation 13: 8:  “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

Psalm 100: 4:  “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:  be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

What should we thank the Lord for, and what should we praise Him for?

You praise the Lord for what He has given you.  You praise the Lord for the work that He has done for 6,000 years and before that and after that.

None of us alive now was here when Moses, Joseph, Abraham, and others mentioned in the Bible were on earth.  However, we should praise the Lord for He has done during these past 6,000 years.  We should praise Him for what He did before that – in His creation of universes and angels.  We should praise Him for what He will do hereafter.  1 Corinthians 2: 9 states:  “But as it is written, EYE HATH NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NEITHER HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN, THE THINGS WHICH GOD HATH PREPARED FOR THEM THAT LOVE HIM.”

You should thank the Lord for what He is going to do for you in the future.

You should thank the Lord for the earth and whatever that you have to do in the earth.

He has created and done more things than you can actually think up to praise Him about.  But praising just the name of the Lord is real powerful.  It’s wonderful.

You should praise the Lord for the faith that He has given you.

Romans 8: 35 – 39:  “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  As it written, FOR THY SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL THE DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER.  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

You have the certainty in your heart that no one, not the devil, nothing that takes place around you, not death, not angels, not anything in this present world or in the world to come, nor any other creature shall separate you “from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Shall He find you believing that because of salvation, you have eternal life?  John 3: 15:  “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

Shall He find you believing that because you are now in Him, He has taken away your condemnation?  Romans 8: 1 – 2: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Shall He find you believing that the grave no longer has power over you?  1 Corinthians 15: 55 – 57: “O death, where is thy sting?  O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Shall He find you believing that you have His faith to live your life on this earth until He sees you?  Galatians 2: 20:  “I am crucified with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

When you let these Scriptures settle in your heart, the following Scripture will apply to you.

Isaiah 26: 3: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:  because he trusteth in thee.”
