Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, February 7, 2021

Introduction:  Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, February 7, 2021

This sermon talks about the fact that we were with the Lord before we came to this earth and He might have spoken to you back then, even though you may not remember it now.  When we were with Him, “the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy” (Job 38: 7).  You will do His will in your life because He “worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2: 13).  We will also sit with the Most High God in His throne (Revelation 3: 21).

Summary of Sermon preached on Sunday, February 7, 2021

We listened to a sermon titled “Jesus The Author of The Old and New Testament”, CD # 2067, preached by Brother Neal Frisby on 3/29/81 (AM).

In the sermon, Brother Frisby said:

Jesus suffered on the cross for both our healing and salvation.

The ones that stay with His word are His.

Jesus was the Author of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Jesus knew what was in the Old Testament and referred to it many times in the New Testament.

No two different people wrote the Bible.  It was written by the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus.  He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

2 Chronicles 9: 1 -12 states the Queen of Sheba came from many miles away to see King Solomon.  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 12: 42:  “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:  for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”

Isaiah 6: 9 – 10:  “And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.  Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 13: 14 -15:  “And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, BY HEARING YE SHALL HEAR, AND SHALL NOT UNDERSTAND; AND SEEING YE SHALL SEE, AND SHALL NOT PERCEIVE:  FOR THIS PEOPLE’S HEART IS WAXED GROSS, AND THEIR EARS ARE DULL OF HEARING, AND THEIR EYES THEY HAVE CLOSED; LEST AT ANY TIME THEY SHOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND SHOULD UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART, AND SHOULD BE CONVERTED, AND I SHOULD HEAL THEM.”

Isaiah 56: 7:  “Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer:  their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 21: 13:  “And said unto them, It is written, MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED THE HOUSE OF PRAYER; but ye have made it a DEN OF THIEVES.”

Isaiah 61: 1 – 2:  “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn”.  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Luke 4: 18 – 19:  “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE HATH ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR; HE HATH SENT ME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PREACH DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERING OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET AT LIBERTY THEM THAT ARE BRUISED, TO PREACH THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.”

Daniel 9: 27:  “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:  and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 24: 15 -16:  “When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whose readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains”.

Hosea 6: 6:  “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 9: 13:  “But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I WILL HAVE MERCY, AND NOT SACRIFICE:  for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Jonah 1: 17:  “Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah.  And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 12: 40:  “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

Jonah 3: 5 – 9:  “So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.  For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.  And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing:  let them not feed, nor drink water:  But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God:  yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.  Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 12: 41:  “The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:  because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.”

Zechariah 13: 7:  “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts:  smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered:  and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 26: 31:  “Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night:  for it is written, I WILL SMITE THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK SHALL BE SCATTERED ABROAD.”

Malachi 3: 1:  “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me:  and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in:  behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 11: 10:  “For this is he, of whom it is written, BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER BEFORE THY FACE, WHICH SHALL PREPARE THY WAY BEFORE THEE.”

I Samuel 21: 6:  “So the priest gave him hallowed bread:  for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.”  Jesus referred to this Scripture in Matthew 12: 3 – 4:  “But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?”

The Lord knows all things to the end.  He knows the moment the last person to be converted will take place before He says come up hither.

You cannot limit God.

Do not count it strange that He might have spoken to you before you came to the earth.

If the Lord could not foresee, then He could not have created it.

He foreknew where we come from and where we are going.

Nothing is hidden before the Lord.

The hairs of your head are numbered.  Matthew 10: 30:  “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

I started the sermon:

Just like the Lord quoted Scriptures, we also can quote Scriptures affirming that the word of the Lord is true.

I read from Special Writing # 030 – “GOD’S FOREKNOWLEDGE – HIS ETERNAL REALM”

“This correspondence should be interesting and very enlightening how God works in His eternal realm!  The Scriptures say, He is the same yesterday, today and forever!  He is the Lord, He changes not and inhabits eternity as well as all of His creations!”  – “Now how much did God know about us before we came?  Did he foreknow all of His people before birth?  It is a deep subject, but the Bible reveals the truth, and we will take it line upon line!”

Did God talk to Jeremiah before He came?  There is proof that He did, but Jeremiah may not have remembered it!” … The evidence, Jer. 1: 5, “The Lord God said, before I formed thee in the belly, ‘I knew thee!’  – He ordained him as a prophet to the nations!  God formed Adam as a whole man; the next thing that followed was a tiny seed.  And yet He foreknew what Adam would look like!” – “David said in Ps. 139: 15-16 that when the Lord created him He saw His substance before hand, wrote his different parts in a book, and then fashioned him when as yet he had not been born! – Verse 6 says, God’s knowledge is too high for him, he cannot attain unto it! … David was revealing something about all of us; God’s foreknowledge of each individual that will go and come upon the earth!  … In other words, David said before he ever came into his mother’s womb God knew what he would look like!” (Read verses 13-14) – “The Lord also gave David the name of his son Solomon long before he was born.  And that he would build the house of the Lord and bring rest, prosperity and peace to Israel!”  (I Chr. 22: 9) – “Also did you ever think about this?  If God can talk to a person after he is dead (at the White Throne and etc.) and He can! … then by His supreme power He can see or talk to someone before they are born! … like a prophet or King and give certain instructions that they do not know at the time, but may dawn upon them later after birth that, that was the way it was given! – Remember we have a spiritual personality that comes with our body; and that spiritual personality will go back to God, and we will have a gloried body!”

Here is a Scripture that many believe concerns God’s elect!  Job 38: 4, “when God asked Job where was he at when He laid the foundations of the earth … And then revealed verse 7 to him!  When the Morning Stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy!” – Isa. 46: 10, “reveals God declares the end from the beginning, the things that are not yet done, saying My counsel shall stand!”  – “Then it is possible for God to give certain information to an individual before they are born through a seed.  Because in continuance He even gives more information while men sleep!”  Job 33: 14-17 – Verse 16, “Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instructions while they sleep!  Verse 14, God speaketh it, yet man perceiveth it not at the time!”

The deep things of God are a mystery, but are revealed unto His elect! … “Behold saith the living God, without faith and knowledge of My Word he cannot attain unto such wonders!  Have ye not heard that only Mine elect and those who have died in the faith shall hear My voice and meet Me in the air and the others upon the earth shall not! – It is because I foreknow you, and ye shall hear My voice!”

I continued with the sermon:

Like Brother Frisby said in the sermon, do not count it strange that The Lord might have spoken to you before you came to the earth.

Jeremiah 1: 4 – 5:  “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

You may not remember what the Lord might have spoken to you before you came to this earth, but you will do all of His will for your life.

Philippians 2: 13:  “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Ephesians 1: 11:  “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”.

You notice in Philippians 2: 13, it states who “worketh” in you both to will and to do His good pleasure.  In Ephesians 1: 11, it states the Lord “worketh” all things after the counsel of His own will.

The Lord will work in you both to will and to do what He has planned for you.  This is a plan that He has for you before you came to this earth.  He might have even mentioned it to you before you were born, but you may not remember it.  However, He will work in you both to will and to do what He has planned for you.

Ephesians 1: 11 also states the Lord “worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”.  He will work out all things according to His counsel.

Isaiah 46: 10: “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”.  This Scripture tells us that the “counsel” of the Lord shall stand; He will do all of His pleasure.

2 Timothy 4: 6 – 8:  “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

In this Scripture, Apostle Paul was stating he was about to leave the earth through death.  He stated “I have finished my course”.  He has finished his race.  He finished the will of God for his life.

When it is time for you to leave this earth, either by death or at the time of translation, you will also be able to state:  “I have finished my course” because the Lord would have worked “in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Job 38: 4 -7:  “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?  declare, if thou hast understanding.  Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest?  or who hath stretched the line upon it?  Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened?  or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

The Lord was talking to Job and He was asking him questions.  One of the questions that Lord asked Job was where was he when “the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

We were with the Lord in heaven, before we came to this earth, when the morning stars sand together and all of His children shouted for joy.

It states:  “all the sons of God”.  It means all of God’s children were there.  It means I was there; it means you were there.  None of us was missing.  We may not remember on earth who we saw in heaven, but you can be sure that everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus was there.

John 1: 12:  “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.  As many as believe on the Lord Jesus, the Lord gives the power to become the “power to become the sons of God”.

I John 3: 2:  “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

Job 38: 7 that we read earlier states:  “all the sons of God shouted for joy”.  It means you and I know how to be joyful in the Lord and to shout for joy.  We had shouted for joy in heaven and we know how to rejoice in the Lord on the earth.  In salvation, we keep that joy of the Lord.  Psalm 103: 1:  “BLESS the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”

Psalm 16: 11:  “Thou wilt shew me the path of life:  in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

This Scripture states:  “in thy presence is fulness of joy”.  We were right in His presence and we “shouted for joy”.  He was looking right at us, we were in His presence and He  wrote down our names in His book of life before we came to this earth.

Revelation 17: 8:  “The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:  and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”

He will not miss anyone of us because we were with Him prior to coming to this earth.

Revelation 3: 21:   “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”  The Lord Jesus is the same as the Father – He is the Everlasting Father.  Isaiah 9: 6 states:  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon his shoulder:  and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Just to have the thought in your heart that, hereafter, you are going to sit with the Most High God in His throne is a blessing.

These are the deep things of God and He reveals them to us.

1 Corinthians 2: 10:  “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:  for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

We will hear His voice when He says come up hither.  As we read earlier:  “Have ye not heard that only Mine elect and those who have died in the faith shall hear My voice and meet Me in the air and the others upon the earth shall not! – It is because I foreknow you, and ye shall hear My voice!”

All of these things are possible because the Lord Jesus paid the price for our salvation.

Knowing that the real you (your spiritual part) was with God before you came into this physical body, knowing that you shouted for joy when you were in His presence in heaven, knowing that the Lord God Himself paid the price for our salvation, knowing that you are going to finish your course on this earth and do what He has planned for you (because He causes us both to will and to do of His good pleasure) and knowing that He is going to welcome us to sit with Him in His throne, you will love His appearing.  As we read earlier in 2 Timothy 4: 8:  “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
